A Creative Studio Space

The Story of the Studio

The idea of having my own backyard studio seemed like a far reaching idea, especially given the space constraints, but after careful measuring and a rough sketch of my design, before I knew it, my vision came to life. Despite the brutal Florida heat, my husband and son agreed to build my very own dream structure. Old windows that were salvaged from an 1800’s historic structure, that was demolished in our community many years ago were carefully selected from a local salvage yard and would soon become the walls. Each window bearing the patina of past decades, thoughtfully repurposed into a creative studio space where dreamy light would provide daily inspiration. The window frames, once part of a forgotten building, are now repurposed with a whole new story to tell.

It’s a magical space that is styled and staged throughout the seasons creating different designs, themes, and moods. Incorporating salvaged, repurposed, and thrifted items, along with vintage, antiques, and family heirlooms. Adding florals and foraged natural elements that are collected from my very own yard as well far away places during our many travels. It adds to the feeling of each design and brings it all together to create inviting spaces that draw you in.

A Repurposed Space

Repurposing and collecting unique treasures isn’t just about style, it’s about giving new life to old things that also tell a story. It’s about intentional spaces, curated stories, memories of places you’ve been and giving those treasures a second chance to shine in a whole new way.

Tablescapes ~ Design Inspiration Through the Seasons

I discovered this charming platter and unique wooden spoons in a favorite boutique style shop in Apalachicola, a charming Old Florida town. They became the focal point and inspiration for this design. A colorful combination of both old and new along with a collection of natural elements from my garden.
